Every year between six and eight million lost and unwanted animals enter shelters nationwide and only 1 in 3 animals have a home that lasts their entire lifetime.

Throughout the month of January, PRORehab employees collected over $1100.00 to support the Community Animal Protection Association, or CAPA. CAPA is a nonprofit animal rescue group located in Northeast Missouri that strives to place rescued animals in the best possible homes. The CAPA works tirelessly to rescue abandoned animals in need of food, water, and shelter. Many of these animals are starving, infested with fleas, and have other health problems. The cost of caring for the growing number of rescue animals is increasing every day. Just a few weeks ago, a group of nine Golden Retrievers, including puppies were dumped on the side of the highway near Louisiana, MO. The CAPA came to their rescue and have found homes for nearly all of them. Thanks to the generosity of PRORehab employees, the CAPA is able to purchase much needed resources to continue the care of abandoned cats and dogs.
Susan Reichard, Accounts Receivable Collector at PRORehab has been actively involved with the organization for over two years. She says, “My experience with CAPA has been rewarding in finding homes for displaced animals. I share photos of animals at CAPA on Facebook in hopes that they will get in the right hands of people who need a loving ‘fur baby’. The volunteers of the organization are so touched by PRORehab’s generosity. They call us the Rescue Angels.”
