IMPACT: Legal File Review

Not all worker’s compensation cases are alike, nor are all therapy programs. Has an injured worker participated in a rehab program that has maximized his/her level of function? Does the rehab provider involved use a medically researched protocol? Is the outcome acceptable? Did the physician utilize all of the methods available to increase the patient’s residual functional capacity?

Legal File review is a diligent review of therapy records: Work Hardening, Work Conditioning, and Functional Capacity Evaluation. It is also a review of physical therapy and physician notes, video tape and employer job description data. The outcome of this review is a comprehensive report which summarizes the file and lists recommendations for closure. This report will serve as the basis for expert testimony should the opportunity arise. This body of work may amount to savings in final worker’s compensation settlement.
